| One of the most popular ways to find a place to stay in Gotland is to rent a privately owned cottage, villa or apartment. All the lodges provide self-catering accommodation subjected to our inspection. You bring your own sheets and towels and do cleaning before leaving. We have around 150 different items all over the island each summer, ranging from simple cottages in the woods, newly built villas close to the sea, to medieval apartments in the Hanseatic Town of Visby. Some cottages and apartments are for rent all year round, but most of them are for rent in summer.
Another popular way to find accommodation is to rent a private single or double room, lodging with the owner’s family. You share the bathroom with the host family, with sheets, towels and cleaning on the house, but in most cases you don’t have access to the kitchen.
